Hi SUPERMOMS,
Today I packed one of Delhi's most favourite breakfast for lunch box. Any guesses?
Yes!!!! Guessed right!
BREAD PAKORAS !!!
Bread pakoras are so ubiquitous here. You can see all tea stalls briskly making these pakoras to their customers who are ready for work. Bread pakoras with steaming hot Chai...wow...what a combination!
The paneer stuffed bread pakoras and the aloo stuffed pakoras are very popular than the plain ones.
They cut the triangle pakoras into two, sprinkle chaat masala on the top and then serve with generous amount of pudina chutney. You can serve this way if you are making it for evening snacks.
Today, I made the aloo stuffed BREAD PAKORAS.
You can stuff the bread by applying tomato ketchup and then the aloo filling...but I have done the CHATPATA GREEN CHUTNEY....DELHI STYLE!!! It really adds to the tanginess of the pakoras and when the child eats in the afternoon, it is still flavourful and does not need any accompaniment. It is a filling snack.
You can look up to this link to make the Chutney.
The picture quality is not great as it was a challenge to take snaps singlehandedly ....that too while preparing it early morning for Dabba....have taken all the steps...Just few points that I would like to share...
1. Ensure that the batter is thick. I have not used soda. If you want, you can add a pinch of it in the batter.
2.Also, you have to quickly assemble the bread with chutney and stuffing and dip it in the batter. If you take time, then there is a high chance of the bread crumbling as it would have become soggy.
3. Do keep everything ready, including oil for deep frying, before you start arranging the bread.
4. Again, while boiling the potato, don't soak it in water for a long time. Immediately after boil, peel and mash. By this way, you are ensuring that the potato is dry. So it will absorb very little oil.
5. If you feel that the potato stuffing is loose, you can add a tsp or two of Sattu powder(roasted gram flour) to the mixture. It will do all the magic of absorbing the moisture.
HERE IS THE RECIPE TUTORIAL FOR YOU!!!!
Yummy yummy snack ....do try it SUPERMOMS, and bring more smiles!!!!
HAPPY COOKING!!
