Hi Supermoms,
This is another interesting and yummy dessert. The perfect mix of bun and cake.
Your kids will love this for their lunch box...no doubt about that!
BLACK FOREST BUNS :
Recipe Inspiration from here
I used the basic yeast dough for this recipe.
TIP: I add 2 teaspoon extra sugar in the dough recipe
Ingredients :
For the filling I used
250 gms chocolate cake crumble ( I used the store bought tea cakes, you can ofcourse use the ones you have baked!)
4 tablespoon Strawberry jam or fresh berry compote
cherries/Icing for garnish( you can use fresh strawberry too)
METHOD:
Let us start preparing the Black forest buns.
1. Dust your work surface lightly and roll out a big rectangle using the rolling pin. Spread a generous coat of the jam leaving the edges. You can do it more patiently than me!!
2. Now, crumble the cake and spread on top of the jam layer. Press with your hand so that the cake sticks to the jam well.
3. Roll tightly.
4.cut them into disks
5. Preheat the oven .In a greased baking tray arrange the disks with the cut side up. Leave 1 cm gap between the discs or you can place them in individual paper cups also.
6. Bake at 170 degrees for 15 to 17 minutes . Tap below the baking vessel to hear a hollow sound. This is the indication that the bun is baked well. Transfer it to a wire rack and allow it to cool.
These are finger licking good! Bake them this festive season and brighten up the occasion by bringing more smiles!!!
Happy Cooking!
With love,
MASTERCHEFMOM
