Trail Mix | Salad In A Jar

Hi Supermoms,

Eating a handful of dry fruits, nuts and seeds every day is a great habit for good health. Today's recipe is the  'trail mix' on the go. You can prepare and carry it for your travel, picnics and also for work. I have prepared  small  jars with roasted goodness and also made a 'fig dressing' to go along with it , if you would like to have it as a 'high protein' meal.

A tasty and healthy snack and like all my other recipes, it is so easy to prepare !

Trail Mix Salad Jar :

Preparation time : 5 minutes
Cooking time : 15 minutes
Serves : 2
Special Vessel : clean, dry, odour free jar or zip lock pouch

Ingredients :

2 tablespoon peanuts
2 tablespoons cashewnuts
15 almonds
10 pistachios
3 tablespoon roasted gram
1 tablespoon raisins
1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds
1 teaspoon melon seeds
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
1/4 cup oats

For the dressing ( optional) :

4 figs ( chopped)
1/2 cup almond milk or coconut milk

Method :

1. Soak the chopped figs in 2 tablespoons of hot water for 10 minutes.
2. Grind it along with 1/2 cup of almond milk/coconut milk.
3.Heat a wide pan and dry roast each ingredient separately till they turn fragrant and lightly roasted.
4. Layer the dry fruits in a clean and dry jar.

Chef Tips: You can also pack them in individual zip lock covers. You can add/ omit the dry fruits according to your taste preference.

Your trail mix is ready ! Whenever you want to eat , transfer them to a bowl, add the dressing and enjoy !!!
