Strawberry Dosai | Strawberry Chila | Gluten Free and Vegan Recipe

Strawberry Dosai | Strawberry Chila

Hi Supermoms,

Those of you who follow me regularly must be knowing that I am not a great fan of fruits. I eat it with a lot of reluctance. Some childhood habits do not change, right ? But after the birth of my children, I consciously try and add fruits in our diet.

I try and make interesting dishes out of it so that fruits are consumed in one form or the other. Recently, I made a quick snack using strawberries. Dosa made using chick pea flour is called 'Chila' in North India.

You can call this  chila or dosa or savoury crepes. They are so simple to make. No advance preparation is required. Also, the batter needs no fermentation. Quick , easy snack or breakfast with the tangy and spicy strawberry filling.

The strawberry filling needs no cooking. Just mix fresh strawberries with chillies, ginger and herbs . How easy can it get ?

There is just one thing that you need to keep in mind. The strawberry dosai tastes best when eaten hot off the tava/skillet/pan. The filling is wet and so can make the dosai soggy after some time.

You can roll or fold them and serve. No side dish is required for this spicy and tangy dosai. It tastes great as is. Now let me share the recipe quickly with you and get to my kitchen fast so that I can cook lunch for everyone 😀.
