When I decide to make PAN PIZZA, I wanted to make a great starter to compliment it. Though GARLIC BREAD was the first thing that came to my mind.... I kept that aside for another day. I came across an interesting recipe in a facebook page and was thrilled to try.....
These Garlic Knots are a big favourite at my home. Easy to make yet flavourful and melt in the mouth Knots.
They make great starters for your birthday parties and potluck dinners especially if you have children around. They are so tempting and addictive. Make sure to make a large batch for they are going to dissappear really fast !

Serves : 4 adults
INGREDIENTS:
All purpose flour- 5 cups
Salt- 1 tsp
Sugar-1 tbsp
Quick rising yeast /Rapid rise instant yeast-1 tsp
Warm water- 1 1/2 cup( might differ according to the quality of flour)
Olive oil1 tbsp
For the dressing :
A small bunch of fresh mint leaves ( Finely Chopped)
3 tablespoons of Salted Butter
5-6 Garlic pods ( paste)
METHOD :
In a large bowl, add the flour, salt, sugar and yeast. Mix everything together well. Pour luke warm water in the dough and start mixing the dough. Add the oil and keep kneading. Add extra water if you feel that the dough is hard. You should be kneading a little sticky dough.
The water has to be warm and not HOT!
Make a well and pour the warm water.
The sticky dough. This is how it looks before You start to knead.
Knead for 10 minutes or until you get a smooth dough. Grease a bowl and place the dough inside and cover it with a damp towel or cling wrap. Place it in a warm place to rise for 25 minutes..
The dough would have reasonably risen and will look like this.
Take a portion of the dough and in a lighly floured surface roll with a light hand.
Using a pizza cutter or knife cut them into stripes. Then take each stripe and make a simple knot. You can make two knots in larger strips.
Bake them in a preheated oven at 180 degrees C for around 10 minutes or till the corners start to brown.
Remove and brush the top with herbed garlic butter.
For the herbed garlic butter,
I heated butter in a pan, added crushed garlic and finely chopped mint leaves ,sauted for two minutes and my herbed garlic butter was ready.
Serve hot!!!
I love making this recipe especially for playdates and birthday parties. It is so satisfying when you bake at home. Do give this recipe a try and you are sure to fall in love with it !
