Sundakkai Raita | Sundakkai Thayir Pachadi | Turkey Berry Raita

Sundakkai Thayir Pachadi

Hi Supermoms,

Raita/ Thayir Pachadi are great accompaniments to mixed rice or rotis. Instead of making just onion or tomato raita all the time, we can make raitas interesting as well as healthy.

Sundakkai / Turkey berry is so healthy and I have shared the ' Sundakkai Vathal Podi ' recipe and 'Sundakkai Vathal Kuzhambu recipe with you all earlier.

Also making a batch of Curry leaf powder / Karuvepillai podi adds colour and health to all the raitas .

Making this raita takes less than 5 minutes if you have these two podis( powders) ready.

Sundakkai Raita/ Sundakkai Thayir Pachadi :

Preparation time : 2 minutes
Total time : 5 minutes
Serves : 4
1 cup = 250 ml cup

Ingredients :

1 cup curd ( whisked well )
1 teaspoon sundakkai podi
1/4 teaspoon karuvepillai podi
salt ( if required)

Method :

1. In a broad vessel, add the curd and whisk it well.
2. Add water if the curd is too thick and whisk without any lumps.
3. Add the sundakkai podi/turkey berry powder and curry leaf powder .
4. Mix well, taste and adjust salt quantity.

Optional step ( tempering ) :

If you do not have curry leaf powder, then heat a teaspoon of oil, temper with mustard seeds and curry leaves and pour it on the raita. Mix well and serve . I served it along with Bisi Bele Bath and it tasted so good.

Happy Cooking !

With love,
