I have always seen my children enjoy nachos with cream dips and salsa. Nachos with salsa and cheese is always a winner snack. This starter would get polished off in seconds whenever we order from Cream Center restaurant. I was tempted to bring that taste of creamy nachos at home. I was thrilled with the feedback from my children " Amma, your nachos is better than CC" . MY DAY WAS DONE!!!!
Making Nachos at home is not so difficult.
1. Use oil to roll the dough not flour. I realised this as the flour tends to clog the oil, turning it to dark brown colour.
2. I did have Cheddar cheese at home(liquid) so used AMUL CHEESE SLICES.
Nachos | Restaurant Style Nachos :
Preparation time : 15 minutes
Cooking time : 20 minutes
Serves : 2-3
1 cup = 250 ml
Ingredients :
1 cup Makki Atta/ Corn Flour
1 teaspoon ( mixed herbs of your choice)
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder ( adjust to taste)
salt to taste
oil for frying
For topping :
2 cheese slices
100 ml fresh cream
1/2 capsicum/bell pepper
1 tomato ( deseeded and finely chopped)
1 onion ( finely chopped)
Chef Tip ( to serve the nachos with cheese ):
1.Instead of melting cheese over double boiler and adding cream, you can arrange the nachos in a microwave/oven safe plate/bowl.
2.Tear the cheese slices and place it on top of the nachos.
3. Microwave for 30 seconds or till the cheese lightly melts , garnish with chopped vegetables and serve hot.
