Snowball Cookies | How to make Snowball Cookies at home | Easy Recipe


Hi Supermoms,

The 'Snowball Cookies' are quite popular and are known by different names across the globe. You might have heard of the names 'Russian tea Cakes' , 'Mexican Wedding Cakes', 'butter balls'. 

The basic  ingredients are flour, sugar, butter and chopped or powdered nuts. The cookies are shaped into  balls and baked. When warm they are tossed in powdered sugar. 

'A dessert that is made for a crowd'.

Snowball Cookies :

Preparation time : 40 minutes
Cooking time - 13 -15 minutes
1 Cup = 200 ml Cup
Storage :These cookies can be freezed upto 3 months. Just thaw them and roll them in powdered sugar before serving.

Ingredients :

2 cups All Purpose Flour/Maida
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter (softened)
1 cup powdered/chopped almonds 
1 teaspoon vanilla 
1/4 teaspoon salt

For rolling:

1/2 cup powdered sugar

Method:

1. In a large bowl, beat the butter till it turns light and fluffy. 
2. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and beat again.
3. Mix the powdered almonds, salt with the flour.
4. Beat in  the almond-flour mixture in batches until it becomes a dough.
5. Now shape the dough into 1 -inch balls.
6. Line a baking tray with butter paper and place the balls 1 inch apart.
7. In a preheated oven, bake the cookies for 13-15 minutes or till set at 175 degrees C in the middle rack.
TIP: The cookies should not turn brown.
8.Cool slightly for around 10 minutes.
9. Place half cup of powdered sugar in a bowl.
10. Roll each cookie( whie it's still warm) in the sugar. 
11. Let them cool for another 10 minutes.
12. Roll again.



Store the cookies in an air tight container and treat your guests and family with these easy to make , elegant looking Snowball cookies.
