Health Benefits of Turmeric


Hi Supermoms,

 Turmeric' is not only a power food but also a healing root used in ayurvedic medicines. We are really fortunate that turmeric is a part and parcel of Indian Cooking. Turmeric is also considered as a beauty product and is believed to give natural glow to the skin. 


Though the Western World may have discovered Turmeric Latte now , we have been using Turmeric milk with a dash of crushed peppercorns for ages. Even today, when anyone at home is suffering from cold, cough, throat ache, I compulsorily give a glass of turmeric milk during bed time. 



Here is the simple recipe to make Turmeric Milk :


1. In a tall glass, add 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder.
2. Coarsely powder 3-4 peppercorns in a mortar and pestle.
3. Add this to the glass with turmeric powder.
4. Heat a 300 ml of milk till it is boiling hot.
5. Pour the boiling hot milk into the glass with turmeric and crushed  pepper.
6. Mix the milk by pouring it into another glass and back to this glass.
7. Repeat this process for 3-4 times .
Tip : This helps in frothing the milk.

Sip slowly and drink the turmeric milk.
