Hi Supermoms,
'Chutney' recipes are always my favourite to share.
In fact, there is a chutney recipe similar to today's tomato chutney recipe called the Thanjavur Thakkali Chutney . It was a recipe that I learnt from my Mother-In -Law, Prema. I made a few changes to her recipe and this instant version / Dhideer Thakkali Chutney was born 😁. But , there is a visible difference in the taste and texture of this chutney. So, I decided to share this recipe with you all.
I have used just two tomatoes and have diluted it more so that it can be served in a pouring consistency. Takes less than 10 minutes to prepare this chutney. Most handy for busy morning breakfasts.
'Dhideer' in Tamil literally means 'All of a Sudden'. As the name suggests, no previous preparation or planning is required to make this dish.
It can add so much tanginess and taste to any tiffin .
I served it along with Pune Style Pongal.
