Masterchefmom's Palak Pasta | Healthy Spinach Pasta Recipe | How to Make Spinach Pasta

By now, I am sure many of you know that I simply love to cook pasta as my children can eat it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Every time I make pasta, their appetite increases and it is a joy to cook dishes that are loved by family. I am sure you will agree with me. 


If this favourite pasta dish can be made healthy, then it is a win-win for everyone, right? 


This is exactly what the recipe that I am going to share with you today, does. It makes every one happy and satisfied . Added bonus, even the older members of your family, who are not pasta fans, will also take second helping of this amazing pasta. 


So excited to share this super hit and super healthy recipe with all of you - Spinach Pasta. 


Now, let me share some key features of this recipe


  1. It is so easy to make, you can use pasta of your choice (gluten free ones are also available nowadays).
  2. Less cooking time.
  3. So wholesome, you can even add more vegetables of your choice.
  4. It can be personalised by adding seasonings of your choice
  5. You can also make it vegan, by adding any nut milk or soya milk.
  6. You can make it as rich as possible by adding more cheese of your choice (even grated cheese cubes taste amazing, you can also use grated panner/cottage cheese)and substitute cream instead of milk.
  7. You also make it diet friendly by adding olive oil instead of butter and skipping the cheese.
  8. You can bake this dish and present it as a show stopper too. 
  9. The best and my favourite feature - so simple to make and yet so tasty!

Masterchefmom’s Spinach Pasta /Palak Pasta:


Preparation time : 10 minutes

Cooking time : 20 minutes

Serves : 3

1 cup = 250 ml cup



Ingredients :


3 cups pasta ( cook in 5 cups water, Al’Dente)

6 cups spinach ( washed and roughly chopped)

1 dry red chilli 

7-8 garlic cloves ( coarsely crushed using mortar and pestle)

1 cup cup milk 

1 teaspoon dry Italian seasoning

1/4 cup cheese (grated)

1 tablespoon salted butter 

Salt to taste


Note : You can also use chilli flakes or crushed black peppercorns to spice up your pasta.


Method:

  1. Add chopped spinach and dry red chillies into a wide bowl.
  2. Pour hot water over them, cover with a lid and let it soak for 5 minutes.
  3. In the meantime, heat five cups of water in a heavy bottom vessel.
  4. Add salt and when the water starts to boil add the pasta.
  5. Now, before the pasta cooks, let us make the spinach sauce.
  6. Drain the pasta along with the dry red chilli (wash it with normal water to reduce the heat and retain the green colour) and grind it smoothly using 1/2 cup water.
  7. Heat a wide pan with butter and add the coarsely crushed garlic.
  8. Once the garlic browns, add the spinach puree’.     Chef Tip: You can use the water that you use for boiling pasta to clean the mixie jar and add it to the spinach puree'.
  9. Mix well and allow it to cook for 2 minutes.
  10. Add mix and mix well.
  11. You can also add some cheese at this point.
  12. Now add the cooked pasta .
  13. Mix well , add the seasoning of your choice and also cheese of your choice. 
  14. Switch off.

Your delicious and super healthy Palak Pasta or the Spinach Pasta is now ready to be served. You can serve them with toasted breads of your choice.
