One Pot Gooseberry Rasam Rice | Nellikai Rasam Sadham in Pressure Cooker| How to Add Super Foods In Your Rasam | Gluten Free Recipe

 Dear all,

Everybody loves Rasam. Some like it at the start. They have it as a soup. Some like it as a main meal. I come in this category. I love to mix plain Dal Chawal and pour Rasam on top and enjoy. Some like it as a refresher at the end. They cannot finish their meals without having Rasam after the main course to reset their taste buds and help in digesting that heavy main course they just enjoyed.

The mere thought of Rasam comforts me. I make it regularly in my kitchen and my family enjoys it every single time.

Many of you have asked me to share ways to make tasty Rasam in easy manner. More so in the last few months, since our eating out has reduced dramatically. I had shared a Detox Rasam video in YouTube  which many of you liked.

I am now taking this a step forward and making it even easier for you to enjoy Rasam with this “One Pot Rasam Rice"

Yes, you are reading it right!. I am going to show you how to make this comfort meal consisting of a super tangy Rasam and Rice together in one shot. Super meal in no time!

Presenting the ‘One Pot Gooseberry Rasam Rice’.

The inspiration behind this effort is my instagram sister, @shaanthram. She is the one who introduced me to the concept of making one pot rasams. The innovation I have tried is to use “Gooseberry” instead of Tamarind for the tang and more importantly, to make the Rasam more nutritious. We all know that Amla/Gooseberries are superfoods that is so good for our overall health and builds immunity to fight diseases. Change of season brings with it a series of allergies. And the one pot gooseberry rasam rice helps fight them and is also soothing.

One word of caution though: To make the Rasam rice flowing and liquidy, make sure to use the right amount of water to factor in the quantity of rice and dal that you are using. A good rasam rice should be tangy, moderately spicy and in flowing consistency. Well, if you don’t get it in your first try, you will definitely get it in your subsequent tries! It took me couple of times to get the right dal+rice+water ratio for the perfect Rasam Rice.

So, go ahead and try this super delicious and healthy Superfood- Gooseberry Rasam Rice.
