Chocolate Barfi Recipe | Janmashtami 2018

Chocolate Barfi Recipe

Hi Supermoms,

Wishing all readers who celebrate, a very Happy Krishna Janmashtami .

I read a beautiful column about devotion by Seema Burman in 'The Speaking Tree' today morning . I would like to share a small paragraph from the article with you.

" Krishna, the universal teacher, suggest an easy path to God-head, "What ever you do, eat, offer in sacrifice, gift away, what ever austerity you practise.... do it as an offering to me " . The Divine Lord attaches no importance to rituals, expenditure, show, reading of scriptures or japa. These mind cleansing methods can be done mechanically, but what he wants is love devoid of cunning. Meera had such love for Krishna."

This year, Gokulashtami/Janmashtami day was a quiet one at home. It was all about pure love, introspection and thankfulness for all what God has given us and thinking about all those people who shower kindness in various ways.

I made my sister-in-law Hema's Epic Chocolate Barfi recipe to bring more cheer to the day. It is her signature dish and very popular in our family. She always makes a huge batch of this barfi to send it  as a food gift to relatives, friends  and also for my nephew's hostel friends. Melt in the mouth chocolate barfi has always been on my mind .

Today was the right occasion and it turned out perfect. Easy to make with just a few ingredients , this barfi recipe is a must try.

Method :

1. Mix milk powder and cocoa powder.
2. Sift well to remove lumps.
