Dry Fruit Burfi | Healthy Burfi Recipe

Preparation time : 10 minutes
Cooking Time : 20 minutes
Serves : 4-6
1 cup = 250 ml

Ingredients:

 1/2 kg Dates (1/2)
1/4 cup almonds(whole)
1/4 cup pistachios
1/4 cup walnuts
1/4 cup raisins/kismis
1/4 cup Poppy seeds
1 and 1/2 teaspoon ghee/clarified butter

Method :            


STEP 1: 

In a kadai/pan ,gently roast all the dry fruits and nuts except dates and keep aside.

STEP 2:

 Take fresh seedless dates , cut them into smaller pieces.Then  add  just one and a half teaspoon of ghee/olive oil in a large pan . Add the dates and keep stirring and mixing it so that they completely bind with each other. You can add a little water if it is becoming too dry.

STEP 3:

Now add all the roasted whole nuts and fruits and continue stirring for another minute or two until the entire contents stick to each other. Switch off the gas and transfer the contents into a greased plate/tray. If you are using a plate, use a ladle to shape the corners and the top while it is hot.
 You can grease the tray with olive oil.

STEP 4:

Refrigerate this for at least 15 minutes. Remove and cut it in square shapes.

Alternatively, you can also roll them into cylindrical shape ,roll them over poppy seeds and cut them into circle shaped Burfis. You can also Coarsely grind the dry fruits.


Your healthy DRY FRUIT BURFI is ready .You can store it in an air tight container for upto a month.
