This recipe was created especially for my daughter for her 'COOKING WITHOUT FIRE' Competition in her school. The challenge was that the children need to come up with a dessert recipe without having to cook anything.
My daughter was quite thrilled with the way it turned out perfect and tasted yummy. So easy to make too .
You can use any nut butter , jam, marmalade or chocolate/strawberry sauce between the bread layers. You can also use the cream layer ( refer to this recipe) to cover the cake. You can use so many fruits between the layers and make the cake more healthy. You can add sprinkles /coconut gratings, chocolate shavings to garnish the cake.
Instant Fruit Cake:
Preparation time : 5 minutes
Assembling time : 10 minutes
Serves : 4
1 cup = 250 ml cup
Ingredients :
4 slices of bread
1 cup Nutella /peanut butter /chocolate sauce/honey
1 cup fruits ( of choice, sliced, bananas, strawberries will work great)
Topping/ garnish :
4-5 muesli dry fruit truffles ( optional)/ chocolate pieces/gems or M&M's
4 tablespoons of chocolate sauce
Method:
1. Cut the corners of the bread .
Note : You can shape them into a circle or make a square cake .
2. Take a plate and spread sauce/honey/jam/nut butter and place one slice of bread.
3. Spread your choice of spread on the bread and place the fruits.
4. Repeat the same for other layers.
5. You can either cover the sides of the bread or leave it as is.
6. Cover the top layer with the sauce, fruits and drizzle with some chocolate sauce.
Your instant Bread Cake is ready !!
