How to make Papaya Leaf Juice

Hi Supermoms,

'Dengue' is a deadly virus spread by mosquitoes. During the months of September- October, it is most prevalent. Recently, my better half Raghu was diagnosed with Dengue fever. The first (scary) side effect of this fever is the decreasing platelet count.

Thankfully, Mother Nature has a cure for this virus - The Papaya Leaf Juice. This juice increases the platelet count . Just a few teaspoons a day can have a great effect. Though there are so many brands of papaya leaf tablets that are available today, still if you can get fresh papaya leaf, do make this juice for more speedy recovery. It helped my husband recover completely and so I thought that I will share this handy recipe/remedy with all of you .

The juice is heat producing ( for the body) in nature. So, do take coconut water to balance the heat. Also drinking plenty of fluids is important.

The juice is very bitter. You can add a pinch of rock salt , half teaspoon honey to the juice, mix and then consume . Just a teaspoon in the morning and a teaspoon in the evening will do all the good. If the platelet count is on the lower side, you can make it two spoons. You can extract juice in the morning and store in a small glass container, refrigerate and use a teaspoon in the evening. For smaller children, you can even give the water in which the leaves are boiled as tea.

Do extract fresh juice every day.
