Tamatar Nariyal Chutney | Quick Tomato Coconut Chutney | Navratra Recipes By Masterchefmom | Gluten Free and Vegan

Hi Supermoms,

There are so many varieties of chutney. Chutney is one of the tastiest, easiest and quickest side dish that you can whip up in minutes. Coconut chutney is the most popular chutney across the world.

During Navratra, Farali green chutney(without onion and garlic) is commonly served along with snacks like Sabudana Vada . If you are a person who adds tomato in Navratra Fasting diet, then you can try this Tamatar Nariyal Chutney. 'Tamatar' means tomato and 'Nariyal' means coconut in Hindi language. As this chutney is not the usual South Indian Style Tomato Chutney, I am calling it Tamatar Nariyal Chutney.

Just three ingredients to make this chutney - tomatoes, coconut and green chilli. I have tempered cumin seeds in coconut oil to bring in more flavour. If you do not have fresh coconut at home, you can use cashew nuts instead and the chutney tastes equally good.

Basically, a fuss-free, simple chutney that anybody can make . The chutney is a great accompaniment  to parathas, phulka , puri , cheela/dosai, upma etc., I served it along with Singhara Dosai and it was such a delicious combination.
