Hi Supermoms,
What is that one dish that we all love to order when we step out to dine? No prizes for guessing. Inevitably it will be a starter or a main course that has Paneer. Succulent Paneer lends itself to variety of starters, breads and curries. Once such Paneer dish which is incredibly popular is the Chilli Paneer, a brilliant combination of Indian and Chinese that is relished by one and all. It is available both as a starter and as a side dish with gravy.
It is a perfect combination of crunchy capsicums and bell peppers and fresh paneer that is soft and yet firm. It is indeed a very tasty dish. At home, I make it as a gravy and serve it along with either Fried Rice or Noodles.
Chilli Paneer is so easy to put together and is a crowd pleaser. Whether you are planning for a party or want to make your weekend special, try this dish.
If you are vegan, substitute Paneer with Tofu. Chilli Tofu is equally delicious.
Now, let’s see how to make this delicious Chilli Paneer.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time:20 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
For the sauce ( to be mixed together in a small cup without lumps):
1 tsp dark soy sauce
1 tsp light soy sauce
1 tsp red wine vinegar or vinegar of your choice
1 tsp tomato ketchup
1 tsp corn flour
Other Ingredients:
2 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp sesame seeds
3-4 garlic cloves(finely chopped)
1-2 green chilli (finely chopped)
2 onion (diced)
1 tomato or red bell pepper (de-seeded and diced)
1 green bell pepper (diced)
200 gm paneer/cottage cheese (cubed)
1/4 tsp black pepper powder
salt to taste
1/4 cup water (adjust)
To garnish :
scallion greens (finely chopped)
Important Notes : Instead of light and dark soy sauce, you can use either of them depending upon your taste preference. You can skip tomato and add green, red and yellow capsicum. Also, if you like the slight sweetness in the dish, you can add 1/2-1 tsp sugar to the sauce and add it to the gravy.
